The checkers have flown on JEGS / CRA All-Stars Tour race #2! Although Cole continues to exceed what our expectations have been, he is still a little disappointed with his finish in the Winchester 100.

Going to a track that I had only spectated 1 race at and a track like nothing else Cole had ever raced on, my goal was to just be respectable and survive the carnage and get to the next race. As always Cole picked up on things real quick and the plan changed just as quickly.

Saturday was an open practice day for all of the teams. We worked on nothing but used tires to simulate race runs, where it seems like other teams were doing some qualifying runs. We are not as worried about qualifying right now in Cole’s development as we are putting a solid car under him for 100 laps, so we try to get the car comfortable on old tires. Our times were respectable all day and he got really consistent no matter how many laps we put on the tires.

As race day on Sunday rolled around we started with the same agenda, but with some small changes Cole had asked for in our debriefing Saturday night. The team put on the old tires to duplicate Saturday and see how the car compared to the day before. Right off the bat Cole had picked up some more time, so the decision was made to try our mock qualifying run. On race day the entire day was broadcast on the internet on 2 different sites, craracing.net and speed51.com, so the racing world that was not at the track can keep up with everything going on, its nice to put a fast time up so Cole’s name can get out in the racing world. Well he did that! On his 2nd lap he set the fastest time of everyone for the session and ended up being the fastest lap of all the practices. Although the car had plenty of speed Cole said he was hanging on for dear life on the quick lap, and with this being an impound race where we could not touch the car after qualifying, I figured we better back off a little so the car would drive better in the race. This slowed him up just a little on his actual qualifying run, but still put him an impressive 7th.

Race time had Cole starting in the 4th row inside. When the race started he did as scripted and got safely in line and just started logging laps. Cole just tries to not give any positions away, but really doesn’t press forward until the last ½ of the race. Things worked out perfect as he floated from 5th to 8th the whole race missing some massive pile ups. As lap 70, our magic number, came to him he started his move. Running with the leaders in the 6th position he had a great restart after a caution on lap 88 charging into the 5th position and on the outside for 4th when the right front tire went flat causing him to get against the wall, but luckily only with cosmetic damage and a yellow flag coming out. He pitted and the race team quickly got the tire changed and back on the track under yellow and still on the lead lap. With only 12 laps left Cole drove the wheels off the car bringing him back up to the 9th position at the finish. Now giving him 3 top 10’s in all 3 of his career touring series starts. He was disappointed knowing he was easily a top 5 car, but after seeing the tore up race cars in the pit area I think we were all just fine with a top 10 and a car that we could drive into the trailer…. Although Cole is being hard on our decals, but we do have the best decal guy, and friend, in the business…

Now back to the grind, notes have been taken for our end of the year trip back to Winchester, and I think Cole should really be a contender going back for the 2nd time, but we have to look ahead to Illiana Speedway on May 19th. Again, a track that I have only set in the stands at, but never raced at, and Cole has only seen on YouTube….

We will give it everything we’ve got, and that is only possible because of our great sponsors that have supported us this year and all of our family and friends that continue to amaze us with their support.

Thanks to everyone and GOD bless….

Rookie Cole Williams and his race team went to the Eric Saunders I Can I Will 100 presented by JEGS.com with a goal of making the race and finishing on the lead lap to get a good start to the 2012 JEGS / CRA All-Stars Tour season. Although there were a few rough moments to the weekend, Cole's 7th place finish exceeded the teams expectations.

The team unloaded at the 3/8's (.375) mile Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, Indiana Saturday and was quick right off the trailer. After making huge gains on the car during the open practice, Cole would find himself 5th quickest overall for the day. After the practice Williams relayed to the team what improvements he thought the car needed going into raceday.

As Sunday rolled around the team made some small adjustments which were to Cole's liking and it showed on the speed charts with him ending up 2nd fastest in the final practice. His and the teams inexperience both showed as qualifying rolled around as he would only time in as 21st fastest. Being the first car not to qualify on speed he would now have to go to the Last Chance race where he would start on the pole. Cole would go on to lead every lap of the race, putting him in the 23rd starting position for the 100 lap main event. The 16 year old still knew he had a quick car, especially on long runs. For the first 1/2 of the race Cole drove conservative while maintaining on the lead lap. After the 1/2 way point things had thinned out and the car was getting better, so he started to work his way to the front. At the checkered flag he would find himself in the 7th position, a great start to the season and getting established in the series points and the chase for the Howie Lettow Memorial presented by Howe Racing Enterprises Rookie Of The Year standings.

Now Cole and team are focused on series race #2 at the legendary Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana. They will take part in the Winchester 100 presented by JEGS.com at the famous 1/2 mile on May 6th. This will be Cole's first trip to the high-bank facility and the plan stays the same, make the race and finish all the laps.

Thank you to all of our sponsors for their continued support, without their help this would not be possible. God bless!

Less than a month away for the first race. The team is working hard to get the car ready to hopefully do some test sessions before in the next couple of weeks. If the weather is nice this Sunday, they will be heading to the "Drome" to shake the car down. Everyone is getting excited and nervous about the upcoming season. We plan to run the entire JEGS All-Stars Touring series, but will run the first 5 races then reevaluate where we are as a team. At that time we will look at where we are and the rest of the schedule and make some decisions. Thank you to our AMAZING sponsors! Without them we would not be able to show up at one race and be competitive. They are truly remarkable with their support for our passion. Please check out their sites (you will find their links on our sponsor page) to see how they can help you. God Bless!

It's been a busy year so far in 2012, gearing up for the season. The team has been preparing the car to compete in the JEGS All-Star/CRA Touring Series. We had the car up at Port City having some updates done. They are currently in a internet voting contest with Champion. Not sure how they are doing yet, but it has been exciting to dream of winning. Visit our facebook page for the link to visit to register and vote. Folks can vote daily through February 5th. Cole has grown out of his last year's uniform so we have a custom suit that is currently being prepared for him as well as his helmet. The team has also been looking at the schedule to get a plan together for their travels. They are also currently looking for some tire sponsors of $600 each, if you're interested please let us know. Hopefully as we get closer to the start of the season there will be more news to update you on. For now the first event for the team is going to be the Carl Casper Auto Show at the end of February. Hope to see a lot of you folks out there. It's always exciting to go and see so many familiar faces as well as meet new fans. We would also like to take a moment to thank everyone that prayed for our dear friend Dave. We've been given great news recently that he is in complete remission. Praise the Lord! God bless each of you! Prayers work! Take care until next time!

Cole headed to Lucas Oil Raceway to enter the JEGS/CRA All-Star race. The team was unsure of how this would go beings they had never been a part of a race of this magnitude before. Fortunately, they had lots of support from friends and family and it made for a great experience. Cole started off practice being 7th fastest in both sets of practice. Then he qualified 13th out of 34 cars. This was a good qualifying run for him beings he had never had to qualify the car before. With a sure ticket into the race, the team settled in at the hotel for the night to get some much needed rest before heading back to the track on race day. It was a great morning to head to the track. The team was making some last minute preparations for the big moment. Unfortunately, the team didn't have the money to have a 4 speed transmission put into the car prior to this race, therefore Cole was having to start using the 2 speed. At the drop of the green flag, Cole was unable to get the car into gear causing him to lose several positions. Fortunately, Terry had anticipated this happening and had told Cole exactly how to handle the situation in which Cole did perfectly. Once he was able to get in line for a few laps, the car directly in front of him stalled for reasons unknown, however, Cole was able to maneuver the car to clear it and avoided any cars from piling into the back. However, there was miner damage down to a brace on the side that caused a rub. Under the first caution the team decided it would be best to pit. They would then pit several more times to fix this as well as change a flat tire. At some point through all of this, Cole went a lap down. At this point the team decided that this would be a great time for him to follow some cars and get a feel for their lines. He managed to get the car back into a position that he became the lucky dog on lap 81. At this point it would put him back in 18th position at the restart. This would change the teams view on how to finish the race. Their attitude went from a learning experience to lets see how far up we can come in the remaining 19 laps. This new approach was apparently to Cole's liking as it found him moving high and low, passing any car that came in his path. When the checkered flag fell and the dust settled Cole had found himself getting his first top 10 in this elite series in only his first start. What a great way to end the season! Undoubtedly, the team was pleased with the performance of their young driver as well as the competitiveness of their machine. They are certainly looking forward to making their mark in this series in the 2012 season.

As of now the team is breaking things down and trying to get sponsors lined out for the 2012 season. If things work out they plan to race the full JEGS/CRA All-Star Series with the hopes of competing for Rookie of the Year honors.

Thank you to everyone (Jim Butner Auto, Cardinal Services, JEGS, Rite-Way, Deuser Electric, McAfee Trucking, Compliance Fire & Safety, Jeff Taylor Performance, Wallace Race Car Lettering, Olymco, LeBody Shoppe, and Heineman Upholstery), it is because of them that this season was possibly. Thank you to great family and friends. Most importantly thank you to GOD, his blessings are beyond measure! Looking forward to another great season in 2012. If you're interested in sponsoring please contact Terry@502-641-1005 or email williamsracing@insightbb.com. God Bless!

Cole and team made their last appearance at I44 Speedway this past Saturday night. It was a great night for racing. Started in 8th for the feature, however Cole impressively missed a front stretch pile up coming for the green flag. At the restart, Cole settled in the 8th position and showed great patience as they moved through the first half of the 50 lap feature. After about the halfway mark, the crowd saw Cole begin to move up, passing cars 1 by 1, until he found himself in the 4th position. He began to work on the 3rd place car to get himself in a good position to make the pass. He move low and high. Finally on the last lap of the race he got a run on the outside and was about to complete the pass when the 1st & 2nd place cars made contact that sent the 2nd place car spinning. Cole committed to the outside and nearly made it to the 1st place cars door when taking the checkered flag. This was an awesome run for the team as now they are going to set their sights on the biggest race of their schedule that will be ran on October 2nd at LORP in Indy. The team's last race at I44 was bittersweet. They thanked the fans, officials, competitors, etc for all the lessons learned and even played a "Cole Williams Trivia" for prizes. It was definitely a great evening.

We would like to thank everyone, everywhere for everything that they have done. We've been blessed in so many ways by so many people. God bless everyone that has made all these dreams come true for Cole and the team.

The team made another trip out to I44 Speedway this past Saturday night. With each lap on the track, Cole continues to prove that he is there to win. Due to the "tailback" rule at I44, Cole had to start the race last. There were 14 cars that were scheduled to start the race. Cole's goal was to get some experience in passing and maneuvering through traffic to put himself in a good position for a top 5 finish. Cole managed to make an awesome move coming out of turn 4, where a car running in front of him spun, and avoided being collected up in it. Cole finished this ASA santioned race in 4th place after the checker was thrown ending this 30 lap event. Cole is becoming pretty consistent as he has posted 6 Top 5's in his rookie season driving a Pro Late Model. Not too bad for a 15 year old who doesn't even have his license. The next couple weeks will be the team preparing for the last 2 events on the 2011 schedule, the 50 lapper at I44 as well as Cole's first touring series JEGS CRA race in Indy.

There are so many people to thank for supporting this dream of Cole's. He is truly living out something that we never thought would be possible. A BIG thanks to every single one of the sponsors. Please visit our sponsor page where it has a link to their sites. Please check them out so that you can learn more about them. Also our family and friends that support us week in and week out. Most importantly thank you to our Lord, without his many blessings none of this would be possible. There are no words to express how thankful we are.

Cole wins at I44 Speedway

Cole and the 46 machine found their way back into victory lane after capturing his very first feature win in the ASA sanctioned Pro Late Model event at I44 Speedway this past Saturday night. It is definitely a win that Cole will remember for years to come. Cole had been complaining about the car being too tight all evening. Crew chief Terry Williams Jr (dad) decided to make a change about 20 minutes before feature time which proved to be the right move. At the drop of the green flag, Cole was on the prowl. On the 2nd lap he made a daring move to the outside for a 3 wide pass to take over 2nd position. He then set his sights for the leader. After a couple laps of getting his timing down, he made the successful pass to take the lead. His lead continued to grow by great measure until around lap 15 when a caution came out. After a couple more cautions with the final caution of the race being with 3 laps to go putting Chrissy Wallace on his bumper. Cole remained calm on the restart hitting all his gears and keeping his machine under control, bringing home the victory. He celebrated in victory lane by throwing Gatorade through the air. Zack "Z-Man" Morgan was on hand to conduct the victory lane interview where he asked the 15-year old Cole how he felt. Cole replied, "I feel like I just won the Daytona 500!". The remainder of the evening was filled with shaking hands, signing autographs, and many pats on the back. Hats off to Cole and crew (Terry Jr (dad), his two grandfathers (Terry Sr. & Gary), and Paul Johnson) for an awesome race.

The team would like to give a HUGE thanks to everyone that made it possible. First and foremost God. Without him in our lives guiding us each and every day, we would not have all these blessings. All of our sponsors: Jim Butner Auto, Rite-Way Industries, Cardinal Services, JEGS.com, Deuser Electric, McAfee Trucking, Jeff Taylor Performance, Wallace Race Car Lettering, Compliance Fire & Safety, LeBody Shoppe, Olymco, and Heineman Upholstery. Each one of these sponsors are a large part of why we are able to do what we do each race event. Our family and friends that support us on and off the track. Would like to give a special thanks to Motorhead Events for streaming a live podcast so that our family and friends all across the US were able to tune in and share this win with us. Our next event will be August 20th, back out at I44 Speedway. God Bless!

Things have been rather busy with racing and family commitments. However, there is never a dull moment. The team has had 2 races since the last update. The first being July 2nd with the 50 lap race out at I44. Cole had a fast car and was proving his patience as he was making his passes moving to the front. Around lap 16 Cole had positioned himself in 8th, however, it appeared that patience ran out for the car running in 7th as he got into the back of the 6th place car sending him spinning. With Cole having no where to go and hard on the breaks was not able to slow his car down in time to avoid getting his radiator, which ended his night. The team brought the car back home and immediately went to work on it.

On July 16th the team headed back to I44 on a mission. They arrived at the track and proved the car was as fast as she has ever been, but had some trouble in the heat race due to a shock issue. However, the team got that fixed for the feature and it was time to see what she had. Cole lined up outside 2nd row. At the green, he quickly moved himself into 3rd and before long had positioned himself in 2nd with his eyes set on the #93 of Chrissy Wallace (NASCAR truck driver). He appeared to be having some slight gains on her each lap until the car appeared to have started pushing. He was able to hang on to his position, as he had his best finish of his late model career. The team was ecstatic.

We would like to thank every single one of our sponsors for giving us the opportunity to do this. It is only because of you that we are able to compete at this level. God bless each and every one of you and all of our supporters.

The race team has recently just traveled down to Orlando and back. They are rejuvenated and ready to go racing again. Today they will be at the Sportsdrome helping on the Butner Oval Extreme cars, but next weekend they will be heading west again for the Firecracker 50 out at I-44 Speedway. Our last appearance at I-44 was not what we'd hoped for. Cole was doing very well until while under a caution, the car shut off and she wouldn't refire. This happened as he had made his way into 4th position after starting 10th. It was later determined that the fuel cell pick up came off. Since then the team has been diligently preparing for this race. We have heard rumor that many of our friends and family are making this trip to watch the races and we look forward to seeing all of them. We are also planning on showing the car off at the Dickey's BBQ at exit 127 off I-44 in Lebanon. Make sure you stop by and see us as well as get you some BBQ.

Prayers continue to go up for Dave. He is feeling good, but has a lot going on right now. We pray that he continues to feel well as he makes his way to what we hope is a full recovery and remission. Please check out our sponsor pages. We thank God for everyone that we have been bless with coming in contact with along this journey and ask for many blessings upon each of you. God Bless!

The team was back out at I44 Speedway this past weekend. Even with the threat of rain, they decided to make the trip. The rain held off and Cole was able to get more laps in the late model on a high banked track. Upon unloading the car it was clear that she was fast. Cole was becoming more comfortable with each lap he made. After several open practices, it was time for the heat race. Cole began moving tot he front and after some side by side racing he found himself leading the pack. He continued with the lead to take the checkered flag. Up next was the feature. Again, the car was fast, but while battling for 2nd, Cole got into some trouble which sent him to the tail. Before long we were watching him battle for 2nd again, only to get sent to the tail again. After coming back up through the field for the 3rd time, the checker waved and he took home his 2nd top 5 finish by collecting the 4th place spot. We marvel in the talent that Cole is exhibiting in the late model. With each race that he runs, he's gaining more knowledge and respect from the other drivers. Although not planned this year, we wouldn't be surprised if Cole found himself in victory lane at some point. As always we would like to thank our sponsors for all they do throughout the year for us. It is with great pride and honor that we are allowed to represent each of them on and off the track. Thanks to God above for all his many blessings. We ask for prayers to go out to the families affected by all the bad weather recently. Also, ask for your continued prayers for Dave Embry as he prepares for the stem cell transplant.

Before closing, I would like to thank the folks of Cardinal Services for inviting us over to show the car as well as enjoy a nice lunch. It was great visiting with them, as well as getting to know more about their business. Please go to our sponsor tab and click on the link to their site and see how they can help you.

This past weekend the team had traveled to Lebanon I44 Speeday. They unloaded the car and Cole was fast right off the trailer. He went out for the heat race started on the outside pole. He got a good start and never looked back. He took the win by almost a straight away. Up next was the feature. He would start the inside 5th row. On the drop of the green flag Cole started to move his #46 machine towards the front. With 22 laps to go he went in a little too hard and lost grip spinning around in turns 1 & 2. He went back to the tail. On the restart he was on the prowl once again. Passing cars one by one until he caught up with the pack of leaders. This put him in 6th place. He was working the groove high to try to set up a pass. The 3rd-6th place were bumper to bumper. The 3rd place spun around on the back stretch and collected 4th, 5th, and 6th. This unfortunately ended the night for Cole, as the collision got the radiator. He had a good run for a rookie and turned lots of heads. The team traveled back home to get a start on the repairs so they can head back there on the 21st. We would like to thank everyone for their support. Please visit our sponsor page and their sites. Without them we wouldn't be doing this. Also, keep Dave Embry in your prayers as he is preparing to have some aggressive cancer treatments done. We pray that God will lay his healing hands on him. God bless!

April 30, 2011

The team finally was back on the track after a couple weekends of Mother Nature not cooperating with us. Cole was ready to be back behind that wheel. He was fairly fast from the start. There were 12 cars that qualified. Cole came in with the 4th fastest time. They drew a 6 for the invert, which meant that on the start he would be surrounded by veterans, so they decided to start in his position this time. There were a couple mechanical issues that would only allow 10 to start the feature. On the drop of the green flag Cole got a good started well even though he dropped back to 7th. He was able to start racing back towards the front and coming home in 5th position. He looked like he had good control of the car the entire race. Sponsors: Thank you for making it possible to do what he loves. The team will be heading out to I44 Speedway for the next couple of weekends to get some laps there. Check back as we'll update each weekend or you can follow us on facebook and get more frequent updates on race day. Thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the bad weather this past week. Also, to our soldiers and their families. We pray that all of you are brought back to your families safe. God Bless!

April 10, 2011

The first race is in the books. The team traveled to Beech Bend to hit the first race of the season. This would be the first time Cole would have the car out on the track with the other drivers. The nerves were incredibly present for everyone, as the team set their sites on the feature. There were 10 late models that showed up for the event. The team decided that Cole would start on the tail. On the first lap everyone checked up causing a couple cars to get turned around. Cole was able to stay out of it. This caused a complete restart. On the drop of the green flag Cole was following and getting comfortable with the other cars under racing conditions. You could see his patience displayed as he followed the #77. Cole waited for his moment and was able to get under him. They raced side by side before Cole completed the pass. When it was all said and done Cole finished in the 7th position for the night. There was a buzz amongst the stands as they learned it was a 15 year old that was behind the wheel of the #46 machine. We look forward to seeing his confidence build as the season progresses, however I think we were all relieved to have the 1st race behind us. Thank you to all who've made the moment and this season possible. We are truly grateful beyond measure. Check back throughout this season for updates. God Bless!

The time is approaching quickly. We are 2 days away from seeing Cole take the track for the first time in the Pro Late Model at Beech Bend Raceway. This is a very exciting time for the Williams team. They have been preparing for this moment for months. All the preparations have been made to the car. Cole has made some laps in it and they are now prepared to take it to the track and see what they're going to have in store for this season. Thank you to everyone that has made this possible. There are so many that have allowed this dream to be possible. We hope that you all know just how special each of you are. We pray that many blessings come your way. Well the weather is getting warmer & the birds are starting to chirp which can only mean that the race season is just around the corner. The team has been hard at work and are ready for their first test session at the Sportsdrome this weekend. Cole is getting anxious to get behind the wheel of the late model. They are basically going to use this test session to shake the car down. Then March 24th, they will head to Beech Bend Raceway for a test session. This is going to be where Cole will race his first couple months at. They will attempt to get him as many laps as possible so that Cole can become familiar with the larger car. The web updates will start coming more frequently. This season we will be utilizing Facebook to update at the track, so send a friend request to Cole Williams Racing to receive more frequent race action updates. We look forward to representing all of our wonderful sponsors that are making this opportunity possible for Cole. Hope to see you all at the track. God Bless!

The race team traveled down to the Georgia Motorsports Hall of Fame for the MMRA National Banquet. This was another remarkable location to celebrate that holds so much racing history of the Elliott family. Special thanks to the Georgia group for making this yet another memorable event for all the racers involved. While at the banquet Cole was presented his gold championship ring for winning the Championship in the MMRA Pro Division. He was also awarded the Rookie of the Year as well as the Jr. Pro Championship award. They brought Cole up to the podium to accept his awards and gave him the opportunity to give thanks to everyone that has helped him in his journey. Family, friends, and especially his sponsors.

With 2010 coming to a close, the team is putting together a racing program that will hopefully shape Cole's future in the sport. They have been working hard on sponsor packages. A lot of exciting things continue to come together for the 2011 season. We will hopefully have all the loose end tied up and be able to announce all of our 2011 sponsors just after the first of the year. Until then we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Please also continue your prayers for our dear friend, Dave. Can never have too many. God Bless!

The team officially ended the season this past Saturday evening with a "End of Season" celebration for our family, friends, and sponsors. It was a wonderful turnout and so good to see so many people that have supported us over the 2010 season. The team was able to recognize and honor all of our sponsors that make it possible for us to do what we love doing. We hope that everyone enjoyed themselves. It is now time for the team to turn their focus to the 2011 season. The team recently purchased a 2006 Port City Pro Late Model. It was delivered to us from Pensacola a couple weeks ago. They are very anxious to begin putting the Williams touches to it. They intend on racing several races down at Beech Bend Raceway at the start of the new season, then depending on how Cole does possibly running a few Ken Ten races. Hopefully, between now and then we will begin to unveil a new look for the website. We will definitely keep everyone posted as the 2011 season unfolds. Until this please continue to keep our dear friend Dave in your prayers. God Bless!

With the season winding down and the points locked up the team has decided to park the baby grand for the remainder of the season. The car is sold and the team thought it would be wiser to ensure that it remained in one piece. I'm sure the buyers are appreciating that. With the baby grand sold it was time for the team to evaluate what would be in store for them in the 2011 season. If you weren't at the Beech Bend race on Sept. 3 where Cole officially announced he intentions, it has been decided that the team would start searching for a late model.

With that being said we're already pleased to announce that we have some returning sponsors for the 2011 season. We would like to welcome Rite Way and Jim Butner Auto Sales back. They have both been instrumental in the growth and success of our team as all of our sponsors have been. We look forward to representing them in the future.

As always we would like to thank GOD for his many blessings and ask that you continue to pray for our dear friend Dave, as he continues through his treatments. I'm convinced that it is the will of our Lord to heal him completely. God is Great! God Bless!

The team has had 2 awesome races over the past couple days. They started out at Beech Bend Raceway. The evening began with setting fast time and breaking the track record. As the night went on it just kept getting better. He passed every car on the outside except for 1. The #77, Cole was setting him up to attempt a pass on the outside, but whether the #77 became loose or was blocking high, Cole noticed this change quickly and adjusted to complete the pass on the inside to take the lead on lap 7. He never looked back. Prior to a caution coming out with about 5 laps to go, Cole had pulled to a 1/2 track lead. When they went green after the caution, Cole quickly took off and brought home his 12th feature win of the season.

Next up was Highland Rim. Cole has been hesitant about this track due to some unfortunate events that have occurred. If you remember this is the same track that Cole was leading the race coming out of turn 4 to take the win only to be taken out of the race. This has happened not once, but twice. However, Cole and the 46 machine appeared to be ready as they were fast right out of the trailer. In qualifying, the team had made a change that caused the car to push. He was still able to turn in the 2nd fastest lap. Then came the feature. Cole started outside 2nd row. The green flag dropped. Cole quickly shot to the outside of the 2nd place car and found himself in 2nd place by the 2nd lap. At this point, he was behind the #77 of Blake Isenberg. It appeared that he may not have anything for the leader as they remained pretty even lap after lap for probably 19-20 laps of the 25 lap feature. Then it looked like Cole moved into his mission mode. As he shot to the outside of Blake with 3 laps to go. They drove side by side through turns 1 and 2 then 3 and 4 before Cole completed the pass with 2 laps to go. The crowd was amazed at the brave move of the youngster. He hit his marks for the next 2 laps to bring home another win for the weekend. In the on track interview after the races, they were in shock that it was the driving of a 14 year old that had driven that car with patience and skill to land it into victory lane. He thanked all of his sponsors, family, and friends for helping him along the way, but most importantly he gave thanks to God for all the blessings that he has given him and the team last night and in the past. I truly believe in my heart that God has given Cole a talent and it made me proud to hear him acknowledge that in front of such a large crowd.

On Sunday the team traveled to KMS, Whitesville, Kentucky to have the same results as the other 2 nights. Making it a clean sweep to the champ weekend

The team is off to KMS in Whitesville, KY today for the last racing event of the champ weekend. I will keep you posted to let you know how it goes. I will try to post the racing of this weekends events later this weekend. In the meantime, thank you and God Bless!

It was another wild weekend of racing. The team made their first stop of the weekend at Beech Bend Raceway to race the baby grand. Cole was the fastest qualifier to start the night. Come feature time it seemed like everything that could go wrong did. Started out when a crash happened on the first lap. Cole was able to get his car stopped just in time. Somehow the cars that came from behind managed to miss his car. Then there was a couple times when Cole was attempting to pass another car. With a little shifting and trying to stay out of the car that was on the outside, he slid into the infield. Then another crash happened right in front of him. This time the 46 machine would suffer some minor front end damage. However, at the drop of the green flag with 2 laps to go he was able to pass the leader on the outside and bring home another victory.

The next night the team would head to their local track of Sportsdrome Speedway to race the mini cup. He started the evening off as the 2nd fastest qualifier. Then we were told there would be 2 features. He finished 1st in the 1st feature and 2nd in the 2nd feature. Congratulations to Corey Deuser in the #14 machine on taking his car to victory lane in the 2nd feature.

The team would like to give thanks to God for all the many blessings that he has given to them this season. Thank you to all the wonderful sponsors that support us and have gotten us to where we are. Thank you to all our family, friends, and fans that follow us each and every week. It was great to see so many familiar faces at both races this past weekend. God Bless.

The team raced down at Highland Rim again this past weekend. The results didn't turn out quite the way the team had hoped, but he was still able to pull off a 3rd place finish. During practice the car had the miss back. They went to work to try to fix it once and for all. They were able to go out and get a few more laps in and sure enough the miss was gone. So they took a break and waited for qualifying. The 46 machine was the 2nd car to qualify. He did well putting up the 2nd fastest lap - congratulations to Bill Christie on turning in the fastest qualifying time.

Now it was time for the feature. The cars lined up and headed out on the track. Just before it was time for the baby grands to race, it began to sprinkle. Nothing major but definitely getting the track a little slick. The green flag dropped and Cole seemed to be hung on the outside and was freight trained back. He was able to finally drop inside and start working his way up through the field. At lap 19, coming out of turn 4 he had to check up due to some cars getting loose ahead of him. The 08 not realizing what had happened got into the back of Cole spinning him around. This would cause the yellow to come out sending both Cole and the 08 Willis to the tail. At the restart, Cole would begin to make his way back up through the field. He seemed to make great progress as he passed for 4th place. However, in the very next turn the #77 Isenberg hit him from behind sending both of them spinning into turns 1 & 2. Cole did a great job keeping the car out of the wall. Again, this brought out the yellow flag and sent both Cole and the #77 to the tail. On the restart there were 9 laps to go. Cole managed to work his way back up to 3rd and on the bumper of the #5, but ran out of time to see if he had anything for him. We would like to congratulate Bill Christie as he took home the checker flag for the evening.

We would like to thank God for keeping us safe in our travels, Cole safe in the car, as well as all of our sponsors. It has truly been a blessing to have the opportunity to represent each of you this year. Keep in mind that if you would like to have the car shown at a company function, we will do our best to fit it in our schedule. God Bless!

Check back as I hope to get the videos posted of all the Missouri races as well as the Highland Rim race. Also, check out the photos page as I have added a couple dozen new pictures from the 2010 season.

It seems like our Williams Race Team has been preparing for Cole’s first set of National events out in Missouri for months. The weekend consisted of twin features at Bolivar Speedway Friday night and then twin features again at Lebanon I-44 Speedway Saturday night, all 4 races counting for National Points. All the hard work and preparation by the team paid off by the time the weekend was completed!

We headed out for Missouri late Thursday so that we could get to Bolivar Speedway early Friday afternoon for some practice. Cole’s early practice was nothing but a good shake down to make sure we didn’t have any bugs to work out and it went without any problems. As we got into the evening practices the engine began to develop a miss. We scrambled changing practically everything but the engine it seems, but never had any luck resolving the problem during the sessions… we thought. Thankfully the miss mysteriously disappeared come race time. The first feature of the weekend was lined up by the point standings, which put Cole on the pole. He would get the jump at the drop of the green flag taking the lead. Although the handling was not quite to his liking he pulled to a pretty large lead and cruised to victory #1 for the weekend. He then drew a #3 for the invert of the line-up for the second feature, putting him on the inside second row for the race. Bill Christie would get an early lead, but it was evident right from the start that we had improved the handling of the car for this race. In a matter of a lap Cole was already on Christie’s bumper. Cole tried for 5 or 6 laps to make a pass without any luck. He showed a lot of patience and finally set-up the winning pass just before the half way point and never looked back to pick up win #2.

Bright and early Saturday morning the Williams Team had the car unloaded in the hotel parking lot making the changes needed for Lebanon I-44 Speedway. Once we were at the track and practice got started, the same miss returned and then disappeared come race time again, but the cars handling itself was decent. On this night Cole would actually get to qualify for starting position. Qualifying was very important since the fastest car would start on the pole, and it turned out qualifying would be just as exciting as any of the races of the weekend. The top 4 cars in practice, including Cole, were within less than a tenth of a second of one another, with Cole finding himself not being the fastest car during the practice sessions, so we were scrambling a little trying to find some more speed. As qualifying went on we really got worried as the other 3 teams found even more speed. With some last second changes Cole hit the track and surprised all of us, including himself, by setting fast time and getting the pole for feature #1. The start of the feature saw some really good racing between Cole and Blake Isenburg as they ran side by side for the first half of the race. Cole would get an advantage running his preferred high line and then Blake would come back running the bottom of the track. Cole finally pulled away and looked to be on his way to the win just to have a yellow flag come out with a couple of laps left to go. If you will remember back before the year even began I said this would be a year for Cole to learn how to drive bigger cars, shift gears, and use a clutch. Well it took 17 races for him to make his first mistake with any of them that cost him a position. Coming for the restart he missed 4th gear and fell back to 2nd place. He was able to make a run at Blake but not make a pass coming to the checkered flag and would have to settle for the runner up position. Cole was very upset with himself. I tried telling him that this year was supposed to have a lot of missed gears and to not worry about it. Once he calmed down he asked for a few changes to the car to make it a little better and then when the cars were being called to line-up he even asked for one last change. The line-up for the second feature had Cole starting on the outside of Tyler Scott. As the race got started Tyler would take the lead with Cole shadowing him. Cole’s last second decision for a chassis change would pay off as he easily passed Tyler for the lead and then drove off from the field to pick up his 3rd feature out of 4 for the weekend.

We would like to say CONGRATULATIONS to the #77 team on their feature win. It was pretty exciting watching Cole and Blake race side by side out there.

Next race is at Highland Rim in Greenbriar, TN August 14th. Cole has some unfinished business there. We are so lucky to have been blessed with each one of the sponsors that continue to make this season possible. For that, the Williams Race Team says thank you until the next time!

July 27, 2010

It's long overdue for an update so I better get to it. The last posting that I had was us heading to Beech Bend to race which was rained out. Then the following night at the Sportsdrome in the mini-cup. We arrived at that track and the car was not good at all. We were more than a second off of our fastest time the last trip there. After working a bit with it and discovering some things we were able to get the car better, but never as good as it was. However, by the time it was realized what the issue was it was too late to undo all the changes that had already been made. It was still a great race though to say the least. Cole set the fast time and started the feature in 5th. He moved up to 3rd quickly, but upon the cars checking up in front of him, he was forced to move up to the outside. This caused him to be freight trained back to about 6th position before being able to start working his way back to the front. By the time it was all said and done, he had made his way back to 2nd position. Congratulations to Stiffler on taking the victory for the evening. It was great to be racing with all of the IKO bunch again.

Lots have also happened with Big T (car chief), the doctor's took back the initial diagnosis of a heart attack and have declared his heart in great shape. However, there is an issue with his lungs so although he is still not out of the woods yet, he is doing much much better. We ask for continued prayers for him, as well as Dave Embry (who is still undergoing the cancer treatments). In addition, we would like to ask for prayers for the Butner family as they are going through a difficult time. Our hearts and prayers are with you!

The team arrived back from Bolivar Missouri where they were able to get a couple more races in as they prepare to get the car dialed in for champ weekend. It had rained the evening before the races and left several weepers on the track. The more the cars ran on it the more it would weep. Cole and the other drivers were able to adjust to it after a couple of practices and put on a great show for the fans during both features. Cole was able to turn in 2 more feature wins before heading back home.

The team is now setting their sights on the upcoming weekend where there is plenty of racing to be had. They will start out Friday evening racing the baby grand down in Bowling Green, then turn around and race the mini-cup at their home track of Sportsdrome Speedway on Saturday. We are always excited to run in front of a large crowd at both of these tracks and we suspect this weekend will be no different. We haven't ran the mini-cup in quite a while so hopefully we are able to run with them.

We've in the past have asked for prayers for our dear friend going through the cancer treatments. We would like you to add another one to your list. The teams car chief (Cole's papa-aka Big T) suffered a heart attack last week. He seems to be doing much better, but has a long road of recovery ahead of him. Please keep him in your prayers. There is a huge void in the pits without him, but we know he will be back in full force soon!!! We love ya!

What an exciting weekend the team had this past weekend in Missouri. We arrived at Bolivar Speedway Friday night in hopes of capturing 1 of the 3 features that we would enter over the weekend. By the end of the weekend, Cole and the race team had taken the win for all 3 features. The fans in Missouri are wonderful to race in front of and Cole continues to turn heads at such a young age.

We would like to give thanks to God for keeping us safe in our travels, safe in the pits, and Cole and the other drivers safe in the cars. A big thanks for all of our AWESOME sponsors. Please go to the sponsor page to find a link to their page to see how they can help you. In closing, I would like to ask you to continue your prayers for our friend that is still going through the cancer treatments.

The team traveled to Highland Rim for their 3rd appearance at this track in the 2010 season. Hoping to have better luck there than the last 2 times. Unfortunately, this would not be a race that Cole would visit victory lane. However, he learned quite a bit. Initially, it was thought that the 46 machine wouldn't make the feature as the car shut off during his first lap of qualifying. The team immediately went to work to see if it could be fixed. With the help of other teams, it was discovered that it was the carburetor and were able to fix it in time for the feature. Bobby Hamilton Jr. owner of Highland Rim allowed Cole to take a few laps to see if it was fixed. After the couple laps it appeared the car was ready to go. Special thanks to Bobby for allowing us the couple laps to ensure we would be able to make the feature.

Now it was feature time. Since Cole was unable to turn in a lap for qualifying, he would have to start on the tail. Cole appeared to have a loose car and was having a difficult time coming out of the turns. He was able to work it through and eventually settled for a 4th place finish.

The team would like to give a special thanks to everyone for making it possible to put Cole behind the wheel of a race car each and every week.

This weekend the team will travel to Missouri for 3 features. We will keep everyone posted as the results unfold. We would like to express our gratitude to Copier Mart USA out of New Albany. They have been working hard to get some autograph cards made for Cole to use during his autograph session this weekend. Please visit their site at www.copiermartusa.com to check and see if there is anyway they can serve you.

We would like to remind everyone to continue to pray for our dear friend who is still undergoing cancer treatments. We continuously pray that the cancer will leave his body and he will be restored to good health.

Check back later to find out how this weekend unfolds.

The Williams Race Team is back from vacation and re-energized for the remainder of the race season. There were a few developments during the week we were gone as far as our upcoming schedule. As planned, Cole will race at Highland Rim Speedway in Greenbrier, TN this coming Saturday night. The following week is where the big change has come about. The Baby-Grand was supposed to stay at home while Cole raced the Mini-Cup at his home track, Sportsdrome Speedway, but (3) races for the Baby-Grand have been added to the schedule at the tracks we just got back from in Missouri. Although we would love to race at our home track, the main focus is the Baby-Grand. So, Friday June 25th Cole will be racing double features at Bolivar Speedway, and then another race Saturday June 26th at Lebanon I-44 Speedway. I will keep you updated with how things go, it gets pretty busy from here on out!

May 30, 2010

The team just arrived back in town from their weekend travels to Missouri. Last night the team raced at Lebanon I44 Speedway. The team wasn't able to get their first practice until about an hour before the race program was scheduled to start. Once Cole was able to take a few laps the team realized that they would indeed need to make some adjustments to get the car to the drivers liking. After some changes, the car was getting better with each practice. They decided to make several more changes with the hopes that they would get another practice, but as it turned out they had ended practice to get the racing program underway. This would mean that it would be in the heat race that Cole would find out if the adjustments made would prove to be the right changes. Cole went out and started last in the heat race. After a few laps he found himself in the lead and held the position to the finish. This would determine the start of the feature. With a complete invert, Cole would have his work cut out for him in the feature event. After a few adjustments to the line up I believe Cole actually ended up starting outside 4th row. He immediately started picking off positions until he reached the lead. It appeared that the team had made the right changes to the car. Once Cole took the lead, he never looked back taking the #46 machine back to victory lane for the second time this year. It was an exiting win for Cole. After the race, Cole made a trip up to the stands. As soon as he was spotted the people started coming to congratulate him & asking for autographs. As he was finishing signing up in the stands, he was requested back in the pits for more autographs. It was a great evening for the team.

This was a great trip for the team and we are looking forward to heading back in July. We would like to give thanks to God for all the wonderful blessing that he has bestowed upon this race team. Thank you to our great sponsors. We can never ever say enough about the ones who have come forward to help us be able to go out and enjoy what we do. Its a great feeling to feel like a part of such wonderful companies and an honor to have the pleasure of representing them. Please check out our sponsor page when you get a chance. We have their links on there that you can visit and find out more about them.

The next event will be June 19th back at the Rim. We will definitely continue to update you as the racing season unfolds. Thank you for your support and God Bless!!!

May 29, 2010

What a night of racing at the Bolivar Speedway. The team arrived at the track early and was able to get some much needed laps in prior to the pits opening. This proved to pay off in getting the set up right as well as the driver comfortable with the track. They didn't have a qualifying event, instead they ran heats (determined by draw) and the finish of the heat would determine the line up for the feature. Cole's draw landed him a pole start in the heat. The race was off and Cole was able to get a very good start. He was challenged when the #57 car pulled to the inside for the pass with a couple of laps left in the 8 lap heat race. Cole was able to not only hold his own on the outside, but also to pull back out front and take the checker. At intermission the track had an on track autograph session. It was there that we were able to see how many people were impressed with Cole's driving ability at the tender age of 14. After the session, it was feature time.

After a few changes to the line up, it was decided to have a total invert which would put Cole in the last position on the start. At the drop of the green flag, Cole started racing his way to the front of the pack. With the #57 making his way through the traffic fairly easily to take the lead, Cole was hot on his tracks. On lap 10 Cole dropped down low to make the pass for the lead, however went in a little hard and wasn't able to save it. Now Cole and the #46 machine would have to go back to the tale on the restart. He had 15 laps to go to charge to the front as the #57 car led the pack to the green flag. Cole made up a couple positions on the first couple laps when another caution came out. On the restart Cole would find himself in about 8th position. At the drop of the green flag with the #57 car still leading, Cole set his sights for the front of the pack. He was placing his car high and low working his way through traffic until he found himself in 2nd position and charging for the leader who had a sizeable lead with about 6 laps to go. It seemed that Cole was closing the gap between him and the #57, as the final lap found him on the bumper of the #57. Not sure if he would have been able to complete the pass but we like to think he would have given him a run for his money. However, the #46 team would like to congratulate the #57 team for their first baby grand feature win. The #57 is owned by the team that was driven by Carl Edwards when he won the MMRA National Championship before moving up. We are also being told that this is the exact same car that won the championship that year.

The team now have their sights focused to their Saturday evening race at Lebanon I44 Speedway. Check back later for more updates of how this weekend unfolds. Cole turned many heads in the stands and gained a lot of knowledge in his first baby grand race at Bolivar. Hopefully it will carry forward to the next time when we return. We would like to thank God for keeping him, the fans, and all the other teams safe during their travels and race. We would also like to give thanks to all of our wonderful sponsors for providing this opportunity to be able to come out and field a competitive car. God bless!

May 22, 2010

The team had a double on the schedule last weekend. Bowling Green was scheduled for May 21st, but was rained out. The team then turned their focus to Highland Rim for the Saturday night race. The car was pretty fast straight off the trailer. Cole was mostly satisfied, but asked for a few adjustments. He is beginning to get his starts down pretty good with the shifting of gears. He proved this by turning in his best qualifying run of the season thus far of 2nd fastest. With the cars lined up and ready to go on the track, it appeared that Cole would start in 6th position, but after some shuffling around he wound up starting outside 2nd row. After a few laps Cole would prove that his car was still fast as he moved into the lead after several laps and a couple cautions. He would continue his lead sometimes up to a couple car lengths, however his hopes of winning his 2nd Baby grand race came short when he was spun around coming out of turn 4 heading for the checkered flag. The 2nd & 3rd place cars were racing for 2nd position when the inside car of #25 apparently didn't see Cole and clipped him in the rear corner. He was very disappointed, but is looking forward to his next attempt to claim a victory.

The team would like to give thanks for God first and foremost for all the glory and success that he has brought to us. We would also like to express our gratitude to all our wonderful sponsors that help us get to the track and field a competitive car each race. Please check out the sponsor page and visit their websites. Our next event will be this weekend starting on Friday night at Bolivar Speedway, followed by Lebanon Speedway on Saturday evening. The team has never raced the Baby Grand at either track. They are going to use this opportunity to get some good practice in due to the fact that there will be a champs weekend held at these same tracks in late July. We will keep you posted on how the weekend unfolds. Thanks again for all the support and God Bless!

Wow what a week this has been for Williams Racing. It started out Saturday evening with a trip down to Huntsville Alabama to participate in a baby grand race. After driving through tornadic weather, blowing a trailer tire on the interstate, and sitting in traffic due to construction, the team finally arrived at the track. If I'm being honest here I was a little worried about my son getting in the car as the day hadn't quite been going our way. However, with faith in God, Cole took the baby grand out for the first time. It appeared to be a little squirrelly on the track, but by the 2nd practice it appeared to be one of the top cars in the division. At the drop of the green flag Cole would settle in at the 3rd position behind the #77. He worked the line for several laps before deciding to try to pass on the outside. He stayed on the outside for a number of laps until finally completing the pass with a little more than a handful of laps to go. The #25 had gained a considerable lead over the rest of the pack, Cole made a valiant effort, but wasn't able to put any pressure on the bumper of the leader. Cole finished a respectable 2nd place.

Williams Racing has been blessed with great family, friends, and wonderful sponsors. We would like to announce that we have another sponsor to add to our elite group. Jim Butner Auto Sales out of Jeffersonville, Indiana has decided to join forces with the Williams Race Team. The team realizes that it is because of all of our sponsors that we are able to participate in this family sport as well as field a competitive car. If there is anything we can do for you, such as car appearances, passing out promotional products, etc, please do not hesitate to let us know so that we can get it on the schedule. We thank God everyday for all the many blessings that he has bestowed upon our team.

The team is now focusing on getting the car ready for double duty this weekend. We will be racing at Beechbend Raceway on Friday night. Then we will head to Highland Rim for a race Saturday evening. Check back early next week for the results to this weekend.

Well as you know due to unforseen circumstances the team had a change in plans and stayed back home to race the mini-cup in front of our local fans. The car proved to be fast right off the trailer. When the qualifying was done it found Cole in the top position as he set a new track record. Come feature time, not much had changed. Cole started in 6th position. By the 6th lap, he was in the lead for the remainder of the race. He always enjoys racing at the Sportsdrome because all of his family and friends are able to come out and watch. Its always a blessing when he is able to take home the victory in front of them. We would like to thank Jim Butner Auto Sales for their sponsorship for Saturday nights race. It was great to meet a few of the Butner's as well over the past week.

Our friend had his 2nd round of chemo this afternoon. We're continuing to pray for complete healing. Our God is an awesome God and I believe that he will restore our friend's health 100%. I asked that everyone of you reading this to continue to keep him in your prayers.

Our next race will be this Saturday evening at Huntsville Speedway in the baby grand car. The team has been to this track once this year. Cole will have a busy next couple weekends as we have 5 races in the next 3 weekends.

Due to the flooding that took place in the Nashville area, the MMRA race that was scheduled for this Saturday in Huntsville has been rescheduled for May 15th. Several of the MMRA members have been affected by the flooding. Many prayers go out to these families. We pray that they are able to restore their lives back to normal quickly. With that being said the team has decided since the mini-cups are visiting our home track in Jeffersonville, IN, we will race there this Saturday evening amongst our home crowd. Hope many of you are able to make for this event.

April 26, 2010

Williams Racing has had a busy couple of weekends. He has visited victory lane the past 2 races. The latest victory came from the Baby Grand division. He took the lead very early on and never looked back. The 25 car kept pressure on his bumper for most of the 25 lap feature, but Cole was able to hit his marks every lap and bring home the checker flag! He would like to give a special thanks to his sponsors JEGS and Jeff Taylor Performance for inviting him to test at Beech Bend Raceway on April 21st when they were at the track testing on the drag strip. In addition, we would like to thank all of our sponsors for helping to get to and from the track!!! Without all the great support Cole would not have the opportunities that he has had to race. We would like to thank Samtec for becoming an associate sponsor recently. Special thanks to Noelle who helped to make that happen.

The team also had their first car appearance of the year on April 24th for the YMCA Healthy Kids day. They had a great turn out and everyone enjoyed seeing the mini-cup and go-cart up close and personal. Thank you to JEGS for supplying the team with JEGS coloring books to pass out to the kids. They were a big hit.

On April 17th, the team had a weekend off on the baby grand schedule so they took advantage of the mini-cups having a race. Cole was excited to get back on the track with all of his racing friends that he had raced the previous 2 years with. With much excitement, he was able to take his mini-cup machine to the front of the pack for another victory! He had wanted to win a race here at Speedrome for a while and was estatic to pull it off! Again thank you to our wonderful sponsors. Hope everyone enjoys the Derby festivities that are going on in our area. The team has a weekend off before heading back down to Huntsville on May 8th. Until then God bless.

Before closing, I would like to ask for prayers for a dear friend of ours who has recently started cancer treatments. Just in case he doesn't want us to broadcast it I won't mention his name, but he knows who he is and I hope that he realizes just how special he is to the Williams Family!!! We're praying for complete healing!

The 2nd race of the season is in the books. The team traveled to Huntsville, Alabama this past Saturday evening. Upon our arrival to the speedway, the guys walked up to the track to check it out. After the rain moved out of the area and the track dried it was time to see how Cole would measure up to this track. After first practice it appeared that Cole was pretty quick, however after the 2nd practice it seemed that the other cars had surpassed him. It was time for qualifying, Cole went out and was able to lock in 5th fastest. After the draw this put Cole starting 5th. The race itself was pretty uneventful with it going caution free for the entire 30 lap event. Cole found himself take 3rd place around 12 laps into it and settled in as this was where he would finish. The car had a little motor issues. The team has 3 weeks until the next baby grand event. They will be looking over the motor to find a miss that started about 10 laps into the feature. Hopefully they will hit the nail on the head and be ready to go. The team will be off a week then they are going to travel to the Speedrome to race the mini-cups. Racing the mini-cup is the only way the team is able to get in front of the local crowd. Although we will not be in all the mini cup races that are on the 2010 race schedule they will be able to make a few appearances throughout the year.

Below you can view the race that took place this week. Please email any comments that you may have. We enjoy getting all the feedback and encouragement from everyone. Thank you to all of our sponsors that continue to make getting to the race track possible.

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter. God Bless!

Wow, what else can I say about the performance that Cole put on last night at "The Rim". The team began their weekend out at the Rim on Friday evening to get some much needed practice time for Cole. Terry decided to take the car out first to ensure the car's safety and capability prior to putting Cole behind the wheel. Terry came in and said he couldn't get the car to go any faster, but he was happy with its performance especially with it being Cole's first race. Well now it was the moment that the team had waited all winter for, it was finally time for Cole to drive it for the first time. The first practice he was pretty conservative as he was adapting to shifting and such, but by the end of the 2nd practice he had already proven the car was faster than even his dad could make it go. With a few more laps under his belt the team would call it an evening.

The next morning the team was up bright and early and heading to the race track. After all it was race day and time to see if Cole could perform under pressure with his fierce competitors. In qualifying, Cole seemed to take his time in hitting his marks, I personally think his nerves had gotten the best of him. He turned in the 6th fastest time for the evening. After the draw, the team found out that Cole would be starting the feature on the pole. On any other given race event they would have been estatic by the luck of the draw, but this time they had their hesitations due to Cole's inexperience to this car, division, track, etc. Therefore, after a lot of back and forth discussions the team decided it would be best for him to give up the pole and start on the tail of the feature. Well for the first 5 laps of the race you could tell that Cole was adapting and taking it rather easy as he had already proven that the car was better than that. After that, it became apparent to all who was watching that Cole had decided he was comfortable enough to drive the wheels off this thing. 10 laps into the race Cole found himself in 5th position. After a chain of events and a couple cautions with 6 laps to go, Cole was now in 2nd place. Next thing you know Cole is down on the inside of the #77 attempting to take the lead. While hitting every mark he cleared him coming to the white flag only to be pressured again by the #77 going into turn 1. They raced side by side through the turn and down the back stretch into turn 3 with Cole on the outside. Pulling about a 1/2 car in front coming out of turn 4, it looked as though Cole was going to get his first victory of the season in his first race. However, with some unfortunate chain of events, the #77 broke loose taking Cole into the wall about 30 foot from the finish line. Although we wish the circumstances would have been different and we have some work to do to the car to get it back out to the track. I'm here to tell you that this kid has some talent. While I'm always proud of both my boys, I have to say that the way Cole handled himself after the incident was admirable. Cole we're so very proud of you and in our eyes you are a winner on and off the track.

Thank you to everyone that has made it possible for Cole and the team to be at the track. We have great supporters, good equipment, and awesome talent - we pray its a great season. God bless.

It has been pretty busy over the last couple weeks trying to get the car ready to race this weekend. The team will travel to Highland Rim on Friday for a test session. It will be Cole's first opportunity to drive the new race car on the track. Hopefully he will get some much needed practice in as he prepares himself for his first race on Saturday. The team took him to Rite-Way Industries to practice starts now that he will be working a clutch and shifting gears. He did pretty well. We will be sure to update everyone on how the weekend unfolds. Check out the photos page as I have updated it with race ready pictures of the car.

We would like to take this time to mention all of our 2010 season sponsors. Rite-Way Industries, Cardinal Industrial Insulation, Bower & Associates, McAfee Trucking, JEGS, Wallace Race Car Lettering, Jeff Taylor Performance, Mayden's Body Shop, Olymco, LeBody Shoppe, Heineman Upholstry, and S.S. Performance LLC. We definitely wouldn't have made it to the race track without each and everyone of these wonderful sponsor's continued support. Please check out their web sites and buy from them if the opportunity arises.

Boy so much has happened over the past couple weeks. The car is coming together. We ran into some issues with the motor so we had to wait on getting a few additional parts for it, but it should be ready to start putting in the race car next weekend. We have the body back from Wallace Race Car Lettering. So it is finally starting to look like a race car instead of a bunch of parts everywhere. We would like to give a special thanks to Scott Heineman who has done the upholstry for us (and an awesome job at that)! If you have any upholstry work done you better send it to him because he is the best in the area. There are updated photos that show the lettering as well as the seat that Scott upholstered for us.

On a sad note, two of our sponsors have suffered through a devastating event. Trisha McAfee owner of LeBody Shoppe which is married to Matt McAfee (of McAfee Trucking) lost her shop to a massive fire on March 2nd in Sellersburg Indiana. Many of you probably saw the news footage. Although we praise God that not a single person was injured in this fire, but the shop was a total loss. Lebody Shoppe is a local salon, fitness, & tanning center. However, they have worked quickly to secure another location to rebuild the business. We pray that things go smoothly for them during this transition.

The team has been busy working on the car getting it ready for the 2010 racing season. They have made a ton of progress from where they started. The motor has been sent off to be gone through. The body was just received back from Mayden's Body Shop from getting painted. Everything seems to be coming together sometimes more smoothly than others. The team still has a lot of work ahead of them but they are up to the challenge of getting the car out on the track for the first time. Hopefully there are not too many hiccups along the way.

The team would like to congratulate McAfee Trucking. They have added a new addition to their fleet, a beautiful baby girl. We would like to wish them all the happiness as they embark on another great adventure.

The team would also like to wish their driver, Cole, a very happy birthday as he celebrated his 14th birthday yesterday. He seemed to have a very good day. He is becoming quite a remarkable young man. We are so proud of everything that he has accomplished thus far in his young career.

Hopefully, I will be out at the garage some this afternoon to be able to capture a few snapshots of the work in progress. Look for them to be posted later this week. Thank you to everyone who has committed to helping us along our journey in 2010. We know it will be a year of learning, but we are up to the challenge and look forward to what is hopefully a successful stepping stone to the future.

Wow where do I even begin. So much has happened since the last update in November. The team has been working hard to get the baby grand together for the 2010 racing season. There isn't a part on the car that hasn't been touched. In addition to the new car, the team has also been given a new truck & trailer to haul the car in. This trailer is super nice and a lot larger.

MMRA has posted their schedule for the baby grand series. So far there are races scheduled in Alabama & Kentucky with many more date negotiations going on. We look for this year to be just as busy as 2009. There are suppose to be 4 mini-cup races here locally at the Sportsdrome in Jeffersonville that the team is entertaining the possibity of fielding a car in to give our sponsors some local exposure.

As always, it goes without saying that our team couldn't even dream of fielding a car without the help of some wonderful sponsors. With that being said, we would like to welcome back Rite-Way Industries, Cardinal Industrial Insulation, and JEGS in 2010. There are many other sponsors in the works with a couple bites here and there, however, We're hoping to lock up a few more within the coming weeks.

With the 2010 season quickly approaching the team will be continuing to work hard in getting the car & driver in top shape for another competitive season. Check back soon as we hope to have more frequent updates and photos as we watch the 2010 season unfold.

November 3, 2009

Since the end of the season the team has been hard at work getting things lined out for the 2010 season. They recently purchased a baby grand which is a 3/4 scale stock car for Cole to drive in the MMRA series. They have already gone to work on putting together a winning car. Check out the photos page for pictures. We will try to take pictures throughout the winter at the various stages as they continue to get it ready for next year. In addition to getting the baby grand ready, they will also be focused on getting the mini-cup ready for a fun race in Ft. Wayne Indiana over the Christmas vacation. This will be Cole's first time racing indoors and he is very excited to have another chance behind the wheel before starting in the baby grand.

The Williams racing team had a championship celebration to bring together everyone that helped them climb to the top of the ladder in 2009. We were honored to have everyone come out and join in this fun event. We were grateful to the sponsors who were able to make this event as well in which we were able to present them with a small gift to show our appreciation. Unfortunately there were a few that were unable to attend, but they haven't been forgotten. We are in the works of getting their small gift in the mail to them. Again hats off to all of our sponsors for making this season an outstanding one!

In the upcoming weeks we will be going to various award banquets for Cole to receive the Championship honors. Hopefully we will be able to get some good pictures of these as well to post on the site. One of these stops will be for the MMRA awards held at the Baker Curb Race Shop. As the East National Champ, they have asked that Cole's car be put on display in their show room for 2 weeks leading up to the event. We would like to thank Eldon Isenburg for his dedication in getting this banquet set up. Unfortunately, MMRA chose to hold their banquet out in California this year which due to finances was going to prohibit our team from attending. However Eldon stepped up to the plate and arranged for the Eastern MMRA group to have their own at Baker Curb Race shop. This will not only allow this group to come together to celebrate their accomplishments, but will also allow them to tour a real live shop. What a great opportunity. Thanks again Eldon!

One last thought before closing, the team is currently looking for 2010 sponsors. If you are interested in placing your advertisement on Cole's moving billboard please do not hesitate to contact us.

Well it is official Cole has won all 4 championships that he competed for. In just 22 starts he has 11 feature wins, 20 top 5's, 20 top 10's, and only 2 DNF's for the season. Wow, what a remarkable accomplishment for a 13 year old. The team would like to give a special thanks to Silver Creek Middle School for allowing us to meet them at a rest area to pick Cole up from a Huntsville, Alabama class trip in order to make the Beech Bend Championship possible. Special thanks to everyone especially our sponsors for giving us the opportunity to display their logo on our car all year. Even though all of the points are wrapped up this year, we still have 1 race on the horizon. We are racing one more time here at our local track, Sportsdrome Speedway on October 10th. Hope everyone can make it out to the track that evening for what is sure to be a great night of racing for all. God bless.

The 2009 racing season is winding down with only 2 races left in the points. The last race at Kil-Kare Speedway determined the track points champion. Going into the night Cole was leading by 28 points. Turned out that only 14 cars made the trip which meant before even pulling out on the track Cole was the points champ, however there was no time for celebration because there was still a race on the line. The cars came out on the track for qualifying and the 46 team appeared to be well prepared for the evening as Cole went out and set the fastest time. Next up was the feature. Cole started 5th as they took the green flag. He showed a lot of patience as he moved through the field. It was about lap 14 that he took the lead and never looked back. He continued to hit his marks and gaining distance on the 2nd place car. On lap 25 he took the checker flag for his 10th win of the 2009 season. Thank you to everyone for their continued support.

As we are drawing our 2009 season to a close the team is starting to think about the future. With Cole clinching the 2009 East National Points, they are looking forward to the opportunity to move into the Baby Grand division next season. This will be a bigger and faster car for Cole, however, he is ready for the challenge. Check back as we continue to update the site on the final 2 races of the season. Please check out our sponsor links because without their help we would not be able to race.

Yesterday morning started off bad when the race team woke up and went to get something out of the vehicle at the hotel and found that the trailer had been broken into. Thankfully we had parked a vehicle behind the trailer which limited what they were able to take, but we still had some losses. After determining what all was missing, the team had to quickly refocus because they had another race that evening. So we loaded up and headed back to Beech Bend for our last race before heading home. The team arrived and went to work changing over the set up from the evening before at Nashville to one more suitable for Beech Bend. They were finally able to go out on the track and it appeared that the car was to Cole's liking. Up first was qualifying, where Cole ended up qualifying 3rd. Not where the team had hoped to be, but all they could do now was prepare for the feature. The first division was able to get in a few laps of their race, but after only 4 laps, here came the rain. The rain was just heavy enough that they called the race and rescheduled for September 18th.

The team would like to thank God for keeping them safe in their travels. We would also like to give thanks to all of our sponsors that help us along the way. Please check back this weekend as the team heads back to Kil-Kare for one last race to rap up their local series point race.

The mini-cups were scheduled for the 2nd night of champ weekend to be in Nashville. Cole was excited to be racing at this track, he claims it is his favorite to race on. They started the race and Cole moved into the lead rather quickly. Unfortunately, the car was extremely loose. He was having to hang on in the turns to keep the car from spinning the entire race. He ramained in the lead until 3 laps to go when Willingham moved to the inside. They raced side by side for a lap until the 4 took the lead. Then the entire crowd of about 2000 fans were brought to their feet when Cole dove low to the inside and the 3rd place car of Stiffler dove below Cole coming out of turn 4 for the white flag 3 wide. Cole was sandwiched and had to back out to avoid contact. The 18 was unable to hang onto it going into turn 1 and spun out right in front of Cole, but Cole exercised his quick reflexes and again avoided any contact. While Willingham won the race, Cole settled for 2nd in a race that was one of the best to watch of the evening. When the crowd saw Cole climb out of his car, the crowd stook in amazement of how much talent this young driver showed. We're so very proud of him and all of his accomplishments this year. Of course, it has all been made possible by the great sponsors that we proudly display on the car in every race. If you get a chance please check out their websites. You can find the links on our sponsor page.

Well we have one more race to make before heading home. It will be back in Bowling Green tomorrow evening. Check back for updates to the ramainder of our Champ weekend.

The Williams Race Team has kicked off the MMRA champ weekend with a bang. The team worked on the car getting it ready for top speeds and they succeeded. Cole went out for qualifying and became the fastest qualifier of the evening, but he didn't stop there. Later that evening came the feature, Cole came out ready to light a fire and that's exactly what he did. He led the entire race and never looked back. We would like to thank God for blessing us and keeping us safe. Thank you to all of our wonderful sponsors that help us to get to the race track and keep us in front of the pack. Thank you to all of our friends and family who have supported us in this racing adventure.

We would like to announce that Cole is officially the "unofficial" 2009 MMRA East National Champion & the 2009 IKO Regional Champion. According to our calculations even with 4 races left it is not mathematical possible for anyone to gain enough points to surpass the season that he has had. We are all very excited for the team, but we still have some racing left in the season to stay focused on. We will continue to update the site to keep everyone posted.

The team traveled north to Indianapolis for some fantastic racing. Cole took the car out for practice and he proved to be a top contender. In qualifying, he continued to stay on top by taking the fastest lap. In the heat race, the team decided to stay in the back of the field to keep out of trouble so that they wouldn't take a chance to damage the car before the main event. Then came the feaure which saw Cole quickly taking 2nd spot, but staying close to the leader. With about 4 laps to go, they caught lap traffic which quickly mixed things up. The leader went high and Cole dove low. A lapped car went spinning causing the leader and Cole to hit on their brakes hard to avoid damage. When the dust settled Cole was still in 2nd position, however the 3rd place car was now in 1st, and the leader was shuffled back to 5th. With 4 laps go Cole was able to recover some lost ground, but ran out of laps before he was able to put pressure back on the leader. Thank you to God and all of our sponsors for keeping us in the races!!! Next weekend we have the MMRA Champ weekend. There will be racing action Friday, Saturday, & Sunday. Check back for racing updates all weekend.

Last night the team traveled down to Bowling Green for some racing action. We are in a national points battle for the championship and this allowed us some much needed laps to gear up for our MMRA champ weekend over Labor Day where 2 of the features will be in Bowling Green. The evening started very well as Cole went out and set the fastest time in qualifying. Then when it came time for the feature, it was decided to do a total invert, which put Cole on the tail. Cole did great moving through the field and found himself in 2nd around the 10th lap. By this time Willingham had put a sizable lead between himself and the rest of the pack. Cole had 10 laps to try and run him down. Initially, it appeared that Cole was gaining on him, but in the end Willingham took home the checker giving Cole the 2nd position. However, Cole did what he needed to do for the points battle so overall it was a very good weekend.

We would like to give thanks to God who have blessed us in so many ways. We would also like to thank our sponsors for their help this season. Please when you have a moment check out their websites. We will be heading back to Kil-Kare on the 28th, then to Speedrome on the 30th. So check back as we will update the site after each of those races.

Here is a recap of the last race: July 31st, the Williams Racing Team was back at Kil-Kare Raceway in Xenia, OH. The car was good all thru practice, with Cole telling us it was driving as good as ever. In qualifying he turned in the 4th fastest time, which is the worst he has been all year. The competition has really improved at this particular track this year, most of the teams get to use the open test session every Thursday night. Cole assured us that in race trim they would have their hands full with him. He proved so in the feature. At the drop of the green flag he was able to settle into the 3rd position and set his sights on the 2nd place car, which had set fast time in qualifying. Cole, in just a couple laps drove to the inside to take the position and then set sail for the lead. He quickly caught the leader and after a couple of laps of getting a pass set-up, Cole made his move to the inside. This is where the points racing comes in! The leader chopped down on him to block him. Instead of moving them out of the way, Cole spun himself to avoid contact. He had to go to the tail on the restart. From there he put on one heck of a show coming from the tail to finish 3rd for the night. We would like to congratulate Brad Stiffler on his first feature win. Thank you to all of our sponsors who make it possible for us to race. Thank you to God for all the many blessings that he gives to us. We will be testing at Beech Bend August 18th, then racing there on August 21st to prepare ourselves for the champ weekend being held there Labor Day weekend.

The Williams race team traveled back to Xenia, Ohio for another night of racing. With the trailer race of destruction planned for the evening, the stands were packed. Our main event rolled around and found Cole starting on the outside of 3rd row. After taking the green flag, the inside line got the jump and shifted Cole back to the 8th position. He settled in and exercised great patience while picking off cars 1 by 1 until making his way to 2nd position. After following the leader for a couple laps he was able to make the pass around lap 10. After taking the lead he never looked back. The 2nd place car of Casey Willingham was putting pressure back on Cole's bumper, but Cole never missed a mark and took the machine back to victory lane for the 8th time this year.

This weekend we have another race scheduled for Kil-Kare Raceway. We're hoping to have another great weekend of racing. We would like to give thanks to God for keeping Cole and the team safe on and off the track. Also, thank you to all of our sponsors for helping us this year. The team traveled to Indianapolis to race. What appeared to be a gorgeous day to race saw the afternoon with rain showers. Unfortunately there was too much rain to be able to dry the track and they called the race off. I think Cole was a little relieved, Saturday evening he was accidentally hit in the head with a golf club that required 6 stitches. This made him a little apprehensive of putting his helmet on. We would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Yazel for his hard work. We are scheduled to be back in action next weekend at Kil-Kare. So check back for more updates.

Cole and the team were at Oklahoma Speedway in Tulsa, OK for double features Saturday night. This track was similar to Kil-Kare Raceway that we race at most of the time. Practice was very limited and the crew had to hit on the set-up right away to be competitive. The first feature saw Cole on the bumper of Casey Willingham throughout the event. Casey actually opened up a few car lengths on Cole by the time the checkered wave, causing Cole to have to settle for second place. Between features the team went to work trying to find some speed for the next race. We changed alot of things and had no idea how the car would perform. At the drop of the green flag for the second race it looked like it would be a repeat of the first. Casey and Cole worked thru traffic until taking over first and second. As laps wound down Cole actually was a little faster than Casey and was able to shadow him for several laps until finally able to make a clean pass on him for the lead. Cole went on to cruise to his 7th feature win of the year and make it 2 out of 3 for the West Champ Weekend. It was a grueling weekend on everyone and the car, but worth it. The team will be back at the garage Monday night getting the car ready to go back to the Indy Speedrome next Sunday.

The Williams Racing Team loaded up Thursday evening and headed towards Bolivar Speedway in Missouri. We drove just to the west side of St. Louis before settling in the for the night. The next morning they were up and on the road early hoping to get to the track a bit early to get some much needed practice. Upon arrival, the team was able to get the car unloaded and eye up the track to determine the necessary adjustments. The adjustments proved to be the right ones as Cole was the quickest car in every practice. First up was a heat race to determine the feature starting positions, he got to start on the pole and never looked back, cruising to an easy victory. The feature saw Cole start in the inside second row. At the wave of the green flag he quickly moved into the second position, and by lap 2 had taken the lead. Cole opened up a lead of near a straightaway and took the first win of the weekend. The team is now back at the hotel settling in for the evening. They will hit the road in the morning heading for Tulsa, Oklahoma to race double features. Check back later to see the updates to those races. Thanks to all of our sponsors who have helped in getting us here!

The IKO teams traveled to Whitesville Kentucky for their final 2 features of the Summer National's weekend. In qualifying, Cole turned in the 3rd fastest time (Congratulations to Brandon Oakley on being fastest qualifier). The first feature Cole started in 5th position. Cole was working hard at getting his car to the front. He was able to move into 2nd. From there he had several laps to work on the leader. Although it appeared that his car may have had something for Willingham he simply ran out of time. At the finish he found himself finishing in 2nd place.

The track gave the kids an opportunity to pull their cars out on the track and allowed fans to come meet the drivers. Everyone had a great time talking to race fans of all ages. This gave Cole the chance to sign a few more autographs. Then it was time for the 2nd feature. Unfortunately the race would end early for Cole as there was a racing incident with one bump leading to another that broke the A-frame on the first lap. The kids as always was putting on a heck of a show with door to door racing all over the track. Brandon Oakley & Travis Page was switching the lead back & forth with a couple laps to go. After taking the white flag they went into turn 1 & 2 side by side. The cars got together and they ended up taking an extremely hard hit head on into the outside wall. They took both boys to a nearby hospital. We're happy to report that both are doing well. Travis has suffered a hair line fracture to his ankle. He was treated & released. Brandon has broken his lower leg in 2 places as well as an open wound. He remains in the hospital. We've received reports that both are doing well and looking forward to getting their cars back to the track. We are praising God that their injuries while painful were not more severe. We are continuing to pray that they both have a speedy recovery.

Tonight the IKO series traveled to Jeffersonville, Indiana for the 3rd of 5 features of the Summer Nationals. Williams Racing was up bright and early this morning to ensure that the car was race ready after the double feature last night. Cole was able to keep his car in the front bringing home another victory. Now the team is focused on the final 2 races of the weekend. They will be up early to check over everything & head to Kentucky Motor Speedway. Thanks to everyone that was able to make it out to the track. We appreciate all the support we receive from family & friends. Special thanks to our sponsors. I hope to be able to update the site after tomorrows events so check back. The team headed up to Kil-Kare Raceway for a double feature event to start off the IKO Champ Summer Nationals event. The race team knew that with 5 features on the line this weekend that it was imperative to keep out of trouble while competing for a top finishing position. To start the evening, Cole took the top qualifier honors. He was then able to keep the car out of trouble and bring the car home with 2 solid top 5 finishes. The first feature he finished 4th while collecting 3rd on the second feature. Tomorrow the team continues the battle of champ weekend by racing at the Sportsdrome Speedway in Jeffersonville Indiana. Hope to see many familiar faces as this is our home track. Check back as we will keep the site updated throughout the weekend. We would like to thank God for keeping us safe in our travel & racing endeavors. Also, a big thank you to all of our sponsors.

Well it is nearly 4am and the Williams Racing team just pulled into town. They are exhausted after traveling to Kil-Kare Raceway in Xenia, Ohio for their 6th race of the season. The team arrived at the track and knew there would be some tough competition. There were a total of 17 cars that started the race. There was door to door racing all over the track. The spectators in the stands were going nuts as the kids on the track had them on the edge of their seats for the entire 25 laps. Cole was the 2nd fastest qualifier. The invert was 3 which put Cole starting on the outside pole as they came to the green flag. It seemed that the inside got the jump and it shifted Cole back to 4th position. Between working the lap traffic and running down the leaders, Cole did an awesome job moving his machine into 2nd place. On lap 15, a car spun out coming out of turn 4 just in front of the leaders. Cole chose the high groove and cleared it, however it collected the leader bringing out the caution flag. This put Cole in 1st on the restart. From that point he had Travis Page on his bumper in hot pursuit of an opportunity to pass. Cole did an tremendous job maneuvering through lap traffic and keeping the number 10 behind him to take home another victory.

Williams Racing would like to say thank you to all of their sponsors for supporting & believing in them. I know we have said it many times, but can't say it enough, that without their support we wouldn't have the opportunity to race. We would also like to thank God, for keeping all the drivers and their families safe on & off the track.

Next weekend is the big champ race. We will have 5 races in 3 days. We're starting out at Kil-Kare in Ohio on Friday night for a double feature. Then Saturday we will be in front of our local crowd at Sportsdrome Speedway in Jeffersonville. Then we will conclude our weekend at the Kentucky Motor Speedway in Owensboro Kentucky for a double feature event on Sunday evening. Should make for a great weekend of racing! We would like to wish all the fathers out there a Happy Father's Day!!! Cole would like to especially thank his dad and grandpa for all their continued hard work keeping the car in racing condition.

Check back later this week for some updated photos from tonights race.

After spending numerous hours getting the car back together after being sandwiched with the wall 2 weeks ago, it proved that the efforts of the Williams race team paid off. Cole started the night as the fastest qualifier, with the draw this put him starting in the 7th position. With the stiff competition that Cole had starting ahead of him, he knew he had his work cut out for him to get to the front of the pack. However, he was patient and smooth for the full 25 laps. He picked off the other cars one by one, until finally reaching 2nd place. By this time the leader Travis Page had built up quite a lead for himself. There were several car lengths that separated Cole and the leader, but Cole continued to hit is marks. By lap 18 he had caught the leader. They ran side by side and swapped the lead twice, before Cole hung on to it with 4 laps to go. After Cole had taken the white flag there was a car that spun coming out of turn 4, causing the yellow to come out. Due to the Kil-Kare rules this took the race back to lap 23 and would finish with a green, white, checker. With Travis putting a lot of pressure on Cole's bumper for the final 2 laps, the team found themselves back in victory lane.

The spectators in the stands were impressed with all of the hard racing that was going on. Some even commented that the kids put on as good of a show as the late model series. We would like to give a special thanks to all of our sponsors. Again, without them our racing wouldn't be possible. Check out the sponsors link page for more details about their companies.

The month of June is packed full of racing. We have next weekend June 19th sceduled at Kil-Kare. Then the following weekend will be the IKO series MMRA Champ race with 5 features in 3 days. Beginning on June 26th at the Kil-Kare for a double feature. Then on June 27th we will be back at our home track, Sportsdrome Speedway in Jeffersonville. Then we will have our final 2 features at Kentucky Motor Speedway in Whitesville, Kentucky on June 28th. It should be a great weekend of racing. Hope to see a lot of familiar faces at the track.

Being involved in racing as long as the Williams family has been, they've learned that no matter how good things are going they can change in a split second, often not by your own doing. Cole found this out at the Indianapolis Speedrome Sunday night.

It started in qualifying. After being fastest throughout most of practice, his qualifying run was hampered when it appeared the car in front of him may have leaked fuel on the entire track and then it did not get cleaned up by the track crew. Cole was only able to turn in the 4th quickest time while sliding through the turns. This would put him starting 4th in the feature behind some quick competition. At the drop of the green flag he quickly moved into 3rd and ran down the 2nd and 1st place cars. Cole shot straight to the outside of Brandon Oakley, who was running 2nd at the time. He worked the outside groove for numerous laps while neither car ever touched. Cole finally had a good run to where he could almost clear the 2nd place car. It was then that Brandon’s car pushed up into Cole causing the car to be sandwiched between Brandon’s car and the outside wall for the full length of the straightaway. Cole’s day was over with the car suffering severe damage. It had to be brought in by a forklift! The only thing Cole had hurt was his pride, while realizing that it was unintentional it still is hard to swallow when you are unable to finish a race. Terry (Cole's dad) told him that now it is time to go racing, he doesn’t have to worry about scratching it anymore. The team will evaluate all the damage tonight and have it back like new for our next race June 12th at Kil-Kare.

Again, we would like to thank all of our sponsors that make it possible for us to make these events. Their help will especially come in handy this week.

The race team headed north to Kil-Kare Raceway for their 3rd event of the season. Cole went out and set the fast time. They had started some of the heat races and here came the rain. It rained for about 10 minutes, but the track officials went to work on drying the track immediately. Approx. 1 hour later, we were back to racing. At this point due to the delay, they cancelled all the heat races and went straight to features. Cole came out and immediately found himself in the lead where he stayed the entire race. Cole was pumped to take his mini-cup back to victory lane for the 2nd weekend in a row. The team would like to give a special thanks to all of the sponsors who make their racing possible. Please check out their sites. You can get to their sites through our Sponsor Links page.

Due to our arriving back home at 4 am and Cole having to catch a bus to a MSC Track Meet for school at 7 am, I won't be updating the photos at the moment. Check back later to see some pictures that were taken during this evenings event.

Williams Racing found themselves in victory lane for the first time in 2009. Leading up to the race, the team was struggling to find the right set up for the local track. They must have hit upon something before the last practice, as the #46 car was the fastest out there. During the feature event, Cole found himself leading the entire race. It was great to see all the family & friends that were able to make it out to the track. After the feature, the team took the car out behind the grandstands so that fans of all ages could get a close look at these little cars. Cole signed many autographs as well as had his picture taken with fans. We would like to thank all of our many sponsors for supporting on and off the track. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't be able to make every event.

The IKO season opener is in the books for 2009. The race team headed to Kil-Kare Raceway for a great night of racing. Cole was the fastest qualifier. In the feature, Cole was leading the pack when he came into some lapped traffic that allowed Brandon Oakley in the 99 car to take the lead. While attempting to take back the lead, Cole bumped the back of Brandon spinning him around, sending Cole to the tail of the lead lap. This gave Cole the opportunity to see what the car was made of. He was picking off the cars 1 by 1 and found himself back in 2nd with 2 laps to go. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to make an attempt for a win giving Brandon Oakley the first win of the season. Cole finished a strong 2nd. Williams Racing would like to congratulate the Oakley's on their trip to victory lane.

We would like to thank all the sponsors for helping us get into the racing season. It is because of their support that our racing is possible. Our next race will be at Sportsdrome Speedway in Jeffersonville, Indiana on Saturday May 9th. Hope to see a lot of familiar faces. Check back for more updates.

October 25, 2008 - Riverview Speedway - Carthage, Tennessee

Williams Racing traveled to Carthage, Tennessee yesterday for a Special Race at Riverview Speedway. There was not a thing about the day that wasn't impressive, from the organization of the event, all the way to the checkered flag being thrown. Right out of the trailer, I think Cole had decided that this was a track he was going to love.

Cole proved to be on fire and ready to race in the first practice. He took home the fastest qualifier award while breaking the track record at the 1/4 mile high banked track. Up next would be the first of 2 features. He started mid pack to take the green. After about 4 laps he was leading the way. He picked up both the most improved positions & leading at the halfway point. There wasn't a person there that wasn't fascinated with the accomplishments of this young driver.

Next was feature number 2. They started with an complete invert. Lap #2 saw Cole leading the way once again. Leading the remaining laps of the feature, this allowed him to pick up the most improved positions & leading at the halfway point again. His smooth driving was noted by many spectators, as they congratulated him on his clean sweep weekend.

We would like to thank the race sponsors Team Construction, Diamond Equipment, and Baby Grand Holdings. Keep your eyes open for future races from this group of race sponsors as it will be a race that you will not want to miss.

As always we would like to give special thanks for our sponsors who make all of our racing possible. Rite-Way Industries, Clarksville Schwinn, Cardinal Industrial Insulation, McAfee Trucking, Kahl's Body Shop, Wallace Race Car Lettering, Jeff Taylor Performance, BSWB, & LeBody Shoppe. Go to our Sponsor Links page to visit their sites. Also, thank you to all of the Williams Racing supporters. Most of all thank you to God, for his blessings as we travel to the races and keeping all the drivers safe on the track this season.

Cole ends the year with 6 feature wins, 13 top 5's, 15 top 10's in 15 starts with 0 DNF's.

Next we will be heading to Bowling Green, KY for the MMRA awards Banquet. I will be posting some pictures from last night soon, so check back later.

Please don't forget to check out the sponsor links page. Without the help of our generous sponsors, we wouldn't have been able to go racing.

This weekend we will be racing in Carthage Tennessee. Hope to see many drivers out there for some fun racing before the winter. We will post the results shortly after arriving home, so check back.

Update - October 15, 2008

Cole has been running cross country for the past few weeks. He has made a huge improvement over his times that he posted last season. The team had a successful year placing 4th in the state and winning the Mid-Southern Conference. The team will be losing 4 of their top 5 runners going in to next year. Congratulations to all of the 8th graders. We wish you luck in your freshman year of cross country and look forward to running with you again in 2010.

This Saturday, Cole will be attending the IKO Awards Banquet, where he will take home the trophy for his Championship season. Williams Racing is anticipating running the race in Carthage, TN on October 25th. Hopefully, many drivers will come out for this to make another great night of racing. Look forward to seeing everyone again in the upcoming weeks.

September 12th - Rain Out

The Williams Racing team was loaded up and ready to race this afternoon, when they received a call informing them that mother nature wasn't going to cooperate. Cole was excited to race this evening as it was the deciding race of the IKO points series, only to find out it had been cancelled.

Cole was leading the points series by 2 points going into tonights race. We've been told that Kil-Kare Speedway is not making up this event. IKO had the 8 races required to determine the season, making Cole the "2008 IKO Mini Cup Series CHAMPION". This is quite an accomplishment since this is Cole's first full season of racing!

Williams Racing would like to extend their thanks to all of their wonderful sponsors that have made this winning season possible. We would also like to thank our wonderful fans who have cheered us on along the way. In addition, we would like to congratulate all of the race teams for another successful and safe racing season. We are looking forward to more racing in 2009!

August 30th at Shenandoah Speedway

Williams Racing traveled to the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia this weekend for the MMRA Grand National Event. There were racers from all over the country in attendance to race in the final national points race.

Cole established himself as one of the top contenders as soon as the cars hit the track, timing in the top 2 almost every practice. He set the fast time for the national event. This was his 3rd top qualifier award in the last 3 races.

The feature invert put Cole outside 2nd row for the 50 lap event. The race was uneventful as the cars dropped into line and stayed that way for the length of the race. Cole did get a couple of good runs on the 3rd place car, but never had himself in a good enough position to complete the pass. The crew overlooked a needed adjustment on the car to allow for the cooling temps as the sun went down, but Cole got everything out of the car there was to get.

Cole and Williams Racing would like to congratulate Joey Greening on his victory at the event and Alec Webb for clinching the MMRA East National Championship.

We would also like to thank all our sponsors on a great season, as his 4th place finish locked up the MMRA Eastern Future Stars Rookie of the Year and final points position of 3rd in the overall East National points.

August 22nd at Kil-Kare Speedway

Every good race team experiences highs and lows. While this year has been filled with many highs, this past weekend showed to be much of a challenge on the track.

The night started off good with Cole setting fast time for the 2nd straight week. He drew a 6 for the invert, putting him outside 3rd row at the start. At the drop of the green flag, he quickly jumped into the 3rd position. The top 2 cars were running side by side. In a blink of an eye a hole opened up as the 2 cars bumped each other, giving Cole room to squeeze thru, but just as quickly the hole closed causing him to get turned hard into the outside wall. While there was severe damage to the suspension, Cole was determined to finish the race, bringing the car home in 7th place.

His determination paid off, when it looked like he would lose his IKO points lead, things changed with a few laps remaining as Joey Greening was caught up in an incident putting him 8th at the finish. This gives Cole a 1 point lead going into the last IKO race on Sept. 12th.
